Blessed with good looks, money and a natural talent to allure and pursue every woman he wants Brandon [played by the fearless Fassbender] is a sex addicted men facing his conflicted world fall apart when his sister Sissy [Mulligan] comes to live with him. It's almost rated as an adult movie, based on Fassebender's graphic 'acting', but nevertheless the critics are praising the movie saying it is not about the theme but the psychological dept and drama of the character. Also blessed with good looks, genuine talent and a magnetic screen presence Fassbender has won the Venice Film Festival as best actor for his role so we can expect the German-Irish gentleman will rock the Oscar's in 2012. After the Jonathan Rhys Meyers iconic ads, Jared Leto is the new face of Boss ad campaign called Hugo Just Different. Lets say it is not the boldest nor the most innovative men's fragrance ad cause we've seen the combination of night scenes + buildings + men in suits in at least 5 campaigns with actors [Henry Cavill for Dunhill, Gaspard Ulliel for Chanel, Jude Law for Dior, James Franco for Gucci...] but it's definitely just different to see the pretty faced 40 year old actor/musician/model all cleaned up, no mascara, no leather straps and no 30 Seconds to Mars entourage. Lets just say he looks so much better wearing a very slim basic Boss suit.

I am loving this new animation for the brand new Kenzo collection called Kenzonique. With animation by Rob Ward and Suzanne Deakin, music by Rob Coudert, this video is vibrant and happy as the spirit of Kenzo must be!

Everybody knows the buzz about Antonio Marras leaving Kenzo for a possible Dior position. So LVMH has hired creative duo Humberto Leon and Carol Lim to add a more new generation appeal for the brand as we can see in the catwalk of their new Printemps-Ete 2012 collection. I do like the bright colors, straw hats and nylon sports inspired looks. But I do miss the bolder prints Antonio Marras used to add cause prints and boldness are the basis of a true Kenzo style.

Oh Christopher Bailey did it again! I loved Burberry's collection presented at a huge catwalk on September 19th at the shadows of Prince Albert's Memorial, Kensington Gardens! The show it self was a huge social happening due to the absurd celebrity amount per meter: Kanye West, Anna Wintour, Ben Kinsley, Mario Testino, Sienna Miller, Gemma Arterton plus the entire gallery of gorgeous Burberry faces, George Craig, Douglas Booth, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Lily Donaldson et al. The collection had everything we expect form Burberry, trench coats, parkas, military looks, an ochre to green palette plus the addition of unexpected gorgeous stripes, cute raffia bonnets with a fluffy thing on top and big bold African inspired prints with an undeniable 70's feel to the looks.

For their 2012 design bottle Evian teams up with the legendary House of Courrèges, the new design is beautifully presented and uses just white and pink as colors. Fashion house Courrèges has been known through decades as a trendsetter, responsible for starting the mini-skirt revolution among other trends. For its previous design bottles Evian has teamed up with Issey Miyake, Paul Smith, Jean Paul Gaultier and Christian Lacroix. I am obsessed by Boy George since forever. I've heard kids making fun of him, calling him bad names and I was the first to defend him saying he was stylish, and I was only 5 years old! So many years later I was on my usual vacation in London last June when I met the most beautiful boy ever at the British Museum. Turns out the Botticelliesque beauty was the up and coming British actor and Burberry model Douglas Booth. Believe me, he is perfection, very tall, blond hair, green eyes, the most beautiful full lips and at the tender age of 19, he's got that London boy vibe that is so trendy now [way more stylish than Rob Patzz] so basically a future Hollywood star. I found out he did this really cool BBC movie called 'Worried About The Boy' about the teenage years of no one less that my childhood idol Boy George! The movie is quite brilliant, it captures with sensibility the fragile heart of a boy who was to become an unique pop legend. Douglas Booth [who was only 17 when the movie was produced] delivers a touching performance beyond all the 80's stereotype bringing a real flash and blood and tears Boy George and Oh Holy Gautier, one has got to be a great actor to overcome the tons of red lipstick, eyeshadows and glitter and still looks absolutely desirable to boys and girls as Boy George was. 'Worried About the Boy' also starts Richard Madden [Game of Thrones] as Boy's first boyfriend, Matthew Horne as Jon Moss and Marc Warren as Steve Strange plus Boy George was the consultant for this project, so it is definitely a must see.

From 12 March - 10 July 2011, the V&A will present a retrospective of the work of visionary Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto. Conceived as an installation with its core in Gallery 38 and small interventions throughout the V&A, Yamamoto’s menswear collections will be included in the display of his work for the first time. Each space will take its own meaning within the narrative of the exhibition which explores Yohji Yamamoto’s design world. And I am so happy I've got my ticket to see this amazing retrospective in June. I'm also in love the poster of this exhibit [a true collector's item], it combines a look from Yohji Yamamoto’s Autumn-Winter 2009-10 show made from bright red and black boiled wool shot in action with an image of V&A's wonderful Cast Courts. This was photographed by Nick Knight and art directed by graphic designer superstar Peter Saville!

Remember the cinematic masterpieces The Piano [oh the gorgeous scene when Holly Hunter discovers Sam Neill], Portrait of a Lady [Nicole Kidman's desire for freedom while running away from Viggo Mortensen's arms], Bright Star [lovely Abbie Conish and lovely Ben Whishaw as tragic soulmates]? Well they were directed by this visionary woman called Jane Campion. She is a very sensible director when it comes to transfer the repressed female sensuality and the conflicts between love and freedom to the big screen, one has just to see the palette of the movie to feel the tension and poetic drama of her torn out leading ladies.

There is obviously a trend of very romanticized, very messed up female characters in Hollywood. And we creators do love to explore the delicate aspects of a powerful nightmarish fairy tale united with a rich field to explore in photography, fashion, art direction and all the visual trends that follow. Now everybody [sensible enough or not] wants to give their own version of a classic fairy tale and fortunately a few directors are getting it right like Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan and Cary Fukunaga's Jane Eyre so by the gorgeous look of this trailer it think Jane Campion [as a producer] will rock in her amazing erotic tale of a very contemporary dark Sleeping Beauty featuring Aussie young star Emily Browning.

Last week my beau came home with a very special treat, Massive Attack's Eleven Promos DVD. I am a child of the 90's so Massive Attack means a lot to me [so as Tricky, Everything but the Girl, Beloved, Texas and many of the chic Brits of the club scene at that time] and Sly, Tear Drop, Angel and Protection still feels as great in 2011 as it was in 1997. TO BE OR NOT TO BE: MICHAEL SHEEN AS HAMLET

One cannot get tired of Michael Sheen. I just love him so. He is one of those actors who can portrait any part with such a subtle elegance, such a uniqueness that makes any movie worth the price of the ticket [with the obvious exception of his role in New Moon!]. And the thing is he usually is not the leading actor, nor a typical Hollywood hunk but his charisma makes him flawless in any role. Oh by any role I mean from Prime Minister Tony Blair to Tron Legacy's androgynous David Bowieish Castor, from Tim Burton's White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland to Underworld's werewolf aka lycan king! The Welsh actor took the role as Hamlet in 1999 when he was already a celebrated stage actor in Britain. From 28 October 2011 until 21 January 2012, after his uprising Hollywood fame, Mr Sheen is back to the West End stage to relive the most classic part in history: Hamlet. It really breaks my heart I won't be able to be in London when this play debut at the Young Vic Theatre, it is not often one get the second chance to enjoy a great actor playing such iconic role.

This is the WOW moment of the year! Keane, one of my favorite bands joins forces with Burberry, one of my favorite brands for a major fashion event celebrating the opening of Burberry's new flagship store in Bejing. The event, which will combine digital and physical elements including animation, hologram technology, live models and music, will be broadcast from Beijing Television Centre’s 21,500 square foot sound stage on April 13 and is billed as a groundbreaking audio-visual experience and will be streamed live globally via Burberry.com and into more than 50 Burberry stores worldwide, including the brand’s new high-concept store.

Besides the electric quality music, I've always found Keane one fashionable band. I was fortunate enough to attend two of their tours and the boys always look so sharp. It wouldn't take long for Burberry's Christopher Bailey to spot their fashion vein for a possible creative partnership as he did in the past with smaller Brit bands such as One Night Only. Here is what Tom Chaplin said about his happy creative encounter with the luxe-label:

“I met Christopher Bailey a few years ago,” said Tom Chaplin, the lead singer of Keane. “He’s a big fan of Keane and I’m a big fan of what he does for Burberry, so we hit it off. Chanel is not only a big brand, for the latest years Chanel has proven to be one of the smartest fashion companies with the ultra rich, mega productions created for their luxury products. Two amazing French productions about the avant garde designer Gabrielle Coco Chanel [Coco Avant Chanel and Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky] were successfully released for the last couple of years and since 2001 the brand has been teaming up with big name directors and glamourous movie stars for the iconic fragrance campaigns. Baz Lurman + Nicole Kidman in 2005 and Audrey Tautou + Jean-Pierre Jeunet in 2009 for Chanel n.5, Martin Scorcese + Gaspard Ulliel for their brand new men's fragrance Bleu du Chanel.

Now it is British superstar Keira Knightley who is back for a second round as the face of Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle fragrance. Atonement director Joe Wright is also in charge to create this beautiful vision in beige. I love the sensual feel of the video and Keira looks gorgeous as a contemporary Coco Chanel, a superwoman on a chic bike, in a sexy gear and in an idilic European city [it is Paris but correct me if I am wrong, can you see the Roman Trajan's Column in the middle of the street!?]. Got to love her make up and perfectly styled short hair! Just brilliant as a Chanel dream woman must be.

Oh what a sweet delight it is to be a fashionable girl! We all know Kenzo it is all about the right colors and the Japanese influence and after many seasons of amazing bags like the ever pretty Pagodon the creative team can still create something beautiful to hypnotize our desire. Look at the deliciously girlie macaron inspired clutch by Kenzo Paris Collection! This is something I didn't even know I was missing terribly on my Kenzo wardrobe, and there is no way to pick a favorite since this is the entire box of macaron palette.

Depeche Mode is my all time favorite band, they somehow manage to be timeless, and their songs are as futuristic chic in 2011 as they were in 1981. I was first introduced to the "Modeism" by my very contemporary mom who used to [she still does] adore the 80's bands such as New Order, The Smiths and The Cure. Enjoy the Silence song is such an institution, most of the people of my generation [and the fallowing ones] has danced, celebrated or loved with it's elegant and vibrant notes, it is The Classic Mode, as vocalist Dave Gaham and songwriter Martin Gore like to call their hits. I've watched their 2006 tour DVD called Touring The Angel - live in Milan last night and was amazed by an 'Enjoy the Silence' performance as brilliant as their first music video directed by Anton Corbijn back in 1990.

Oh I am absolutely in love with everything Jane Eyre. Since the anticipation is great and no sign of a Brazil premiere, I took part of my last vacation to reread the book and let my imagination flow with lovely Mia Wasikowska as my Jane and the dangerously seductive Michael Fassbender as Mr Rochester. I realize this is my perfect cast, the book was so alive, darker and heavier with them in mind and since a few important parts of the book where in the Jane Eyre movie clips making my job as a "inside my mind" director quite an easy task! Oh even though I'm small and plain and poor and obscure, they transfix me quite!

My latest acquisition to my Jane's addiction is the Jane Eyre issue of W Magazine featuring a stunning cover shoot by legendary fashion photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino. Miss Mia is adorable, classic and yet so fresh and Mr Fassbender, well, the Irish-German actor is a feast to the aesthetic lovers with his manly carved Byronic features and hypnotic hawk eyes. The pair looks heavenly in the entire photoshoot, very off-white chic, very timeless, very otherworldly as a fashionable vision of a Charlotte Bronte contemporary happy ending. And that happy ending feeling always brightens my day.

LAST SUNDAY AT ZUBIN MEHTA'S CONCERT

There is not much to be added about Mr. Zubin Mehtha's notorious talent as a conductor. This India born maestro has been into the classical spotlight since...well since always and in 2004 he was named the first “Honorary Conductor” in the history of the prestigious Münchner Philharmoniker [Munich Philharmonic Orchestra]. I have had the joy to listen to his brilliant performance with Munich Philharmonic Orchestra last Sunday and I was completely touched by the music. What an honor to listen to a Romantic selection of songs such as nuptial waltzes from Strauss and a beautiful piece from Tchaikovsky. The other highlight form the presentation was the young violinist Mayuko Kamio with her flawless Stradivarius. There is no need to say the mere sound of the Strad brought tears to my eyes!

Since the movie came out, a lot of friends started to invite me to see Coco Chanel & Igor Stravisnky. And how could it be any different, since the subject of this movie embodies two aspects of my life: my Chanel adoration and everlasting passion for classical music. There was a lot of speculation about the possibility of creating two movies about Coco Chanel in such a short period [excluding the Shirley Mclaine version], but I was pretty convinced that there is so much to say about the life of the extraordinary woman she was. And I was right. Jan Kounen delivers the audience a peculiar view on the affair between Chanel and Stravisnky with an intimate, strong and passionate movie making. I love the art direction, photography and of course the wardrobe and was stunned by the set decor of Chanel's cottage, not a castle, she says, but pretty close to a palace.

This is a more dense film then Anne Fontainne's one, former Chanel model Anna Mouglalis looks absolutely gorgeous as a thirty something Coco Chanel, who has found in the creative genius of Igor Stravinsky [superb Mads Mikkelsen] a substitute and a psychological projection of her lost lover Boy. Since the war has made Stravinsky an expatriate, Chanel invites Igor, his wife and four children to live with her at a country cottage. The mutual admiration and Chanel's independence, artistic spirti and self-assurance makes Stravinsky inspired to compose again as their sensual love affair develops. It is the beginning of a genius collaboration but divided between his moral dependence over his sick wife and the deep passion for free spirited Chanel, he dives into an emotional devastation. It is not a romantic movie made to please the audience and for sure it is not for everybody since it is an intense movie with a lot of symbolism trough art and music and psychologic use of colors and movement, all very chic, all very orchestrated. But for the ones who fancy highly romanticized biographies about the edge of passion over music, art and love, this is the right one for you.

One of my best friends is moving to London! I'll miss her very much, but I am glad she is going to live in one of the most exciting, vibrant and fashionable cities in the world. She has left me a little literary souvenir, I've inherited a beautiful edition of 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' by Oscar Wilde from the Penguin Clothbound Classics collection. The cover is made of an opaque black fabric fully decorated with peacock leaves in a silver hot stamping pattern that matches so very finely with the lusty word of our eternally young and forever damned Dorian Gray. Penguin's editions are so unique in creativity on the graphic production and design, making affordable books with a hint of sophistication and collectable status. Got to praise Penguin for the selection of classics that covers titles from authors such as Charles Dickens, Arthur Conan Doyle, Jane Austen, Emily Bronte, D.H. Today is my mother's birthday. More than my mom, she is my best friend, the one who inspired me to pursue and live art everyday, someone I can count on everytime. She has lived every happiness and cried every sorrow right beside me and there is not enough words to say how thankful I have been for being her daughter. So I'll dedicate today's essay for my beloved mom who used to read me bedtime stories about painters and who loves the Impressionists so much!

Mary Cassatt [May 22, 1844 – June 14, 1926] was an American Impressionist painter. She was tutored and work amongst the great painters of the Impressionist period such as Degas and Pissarro. Her style is very delicate and tender cause her themes are so close to the female living like motherhood, reading, children and the introspective almost bucolic way of live the Impressionist loved so. I am quite touched by the dynamics of the paintings, the clear influence of the Japonisme printings, as well the amazing use of colors [love the bright yellows, deep reds and lilacs] and the fantastic gestural brushes on the canvas. Everything is flowed, there is an candid capture of the moment's tenderness, the characters almost dissolve into the environment like the shape of their bodies and the psychologic aspects of their lives influences and glows trough out the canvas. Mary Cassatt has never married nor had children, perhaps is the absence of that life that made her more obsessed in achieve a level of perfection in the portrayed scene, her vision was idealist, there is a sense of loneliness, even with a child in her arms the woman portrayed looks alone holding the child as a part of herself, was and interpretation of a closeness she lacked. It was the Impressionists motto to capture the light, Mary Cassatt went beyond this goal, she has captured the inner light of a motherly love.

I am emerging myself into a study of romantic classic novels. Yesterday I've watched the 1992 production of Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights featuring Juliette Binoche as Cathy and Ralph Fiennes as Heathcliff. What a beautiful motion picture, very subtle and yet so intense. I loved the masterpiece soundtrack by Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto [tears to the eyes] and the solitude of the English landscape. It is impossible not to fall in love with Emily Brontë's desperately romantic tale of the terrible consequences of the denial of love between Cathy and her beloved Byronic hero Heathcliff. For those of you who don't understand the term Byronic Hero, it is a literary reference to Lord Byron's life and writings describing a particular category of extremely dashing dark haired character with a mad, dangerous and very passionate approach on love. And that is how Fiennes's Heathcliff is, a quite mad, tortured soul whose broken heart knows no boundaries or consequence to be revenged.

There is the amazing performance of Juliette Binoche's Cathy as she confesses her endless love, delivering with a deep emotional eloquence that classic three words line "I am Heathcliff". Gorgeous. Some scholars say Emily Brontë [and the entire Brontë sisters] was a writer with existentialist ideas and that famous quote actually means the true romantic heroin in love surrenders her identity for his identity and her world for his worldshe becomes the incarnation or embodiment of the man she loves, his reflection, his double making their relationship timelessly non-material, surrendered and spiritual. As we realize in the book the denial of their co-dependence creates an intolerable hatred between every members of the two families, Cathy's betrayal of her own nature destroys not only her but threatens the wildly free Heathcliff with self-destruction. A sad, deeply constructed tale with an intrinsic moral true about the responsibility of the commitment between two hearts bound to be together.

Edward Hopper was an American realist painter who had an amazing eye on loneliness and solitude. I am quite dazzled by his use of cold colors and the singular electric light on his empty spaces and the never ending silence surrounding his models. I love how the people seems to be empty shells who have lost the track of time while waiting for something or someone who will never appear. His diagonal esthetics are very fact meticulous, everything so carefully tidy, rigid and right, and yet deep down, there is a sense of subtle melancholy with the conscience of something very important missing. It is quite liberating to be detached from the obvious romantic idealism of the art world and wonder about all the poetic meaning of Hopper's quietly fatalist, introverted paintings.

One thing that was provocative and innovative more than 150 years ago, can still be used as a fresh reference for something provocative and innovative in our time. It is all in the sheer capacity of the creator to conceive a new work from a strong, well researched base. I do have a major love for Keane. I've been to two concerts and this Brit trio makes some amazing songs, Tom Chaplin seams to be able to sing live even better than in the album! After a couple of years from the 80's inspired sounds of 'Perfect Symmetry' it is time for the much anticipated 'Night Train' album. I am so amazed by the capacity of this band, 'Night Train' is a fabulous development of the same 80's beat, now more electronic, flavored with R&B and international collaborations ['Ishin Denshin' track is in Japanese!] and yet they have managed to make it a very chic piano based album. Every single track sounds like a hit, but besides the lead single 'Stop for a minute' I was really touched by keyboardist Tim Rice's excellent vocals [a mix of A-ha's Morten Harkett voice with an Erasure spice] in the beautifully romantic and sad 'Your Love'. Following my 80's craze, Night Train is my official addictive soundtrack for the season!

Ontem fui a abertura da exposição Brecheret: Mulheres de Corpo e Alma que celebra os 15 anos do MuBE [Museu Brasileiro de Escultura]. Essa é uma grande oportunidade de ver as ricas abstrações simbólicas, 60 esculturas e 107 desenhos, de um dos mais celebrados escultores no Brasil, o ítalo-brasileiro Victor Brecheret [criador do 'Monumento às Bandeiras' mais carinhosamente conhecido pelos Paulistanos como 'Empurra Empurra' no Ibirapuera]. Essa exposição é gratúita e fica aberta ao público no MuBE até dia 25 de Julho de 2010.

Yesterday I went to the opening of Brecheret: Mulheres de Corpo e Alma [Brecheret: Women in body and soul] exhibit celebrating MuBE's 15th anniversary. Last week I saw my friend with a plastic splash of pink and blue that looked like a toy made of LEGO. I loved it! It was Champion, the new wave re-design of the 80's replacing watch bands! I used to have a yellow one and loved to play with the different combinations of the extra bands. Now there are 57 different shiny and opaque colors and black or white faces, with the possibility of 21 million of combinations!

Com direção musical é do diretor artístico do Teatro Municipal, o prestigiado maestro Jamil Maluf, a nossa produção 'Made in Brazil' é totalmente deslumbrante! Os diversos cenários luxuosos são um colírio, um Buda dourado gigante no centro do balco, lindos biombos, árvores e cortinas bordadas que ambientam com muita opulência o Reino do Sião. O figurino é impressionante, muita pesquisa envolvida na criação dos bordados em strass e sedas orientais numa paleta de cores vibrante e exótica. Toda a direção de arte cria uma moldura perfeita para os atores [o 'global' Tuca Andrada é fantástico no papel do Rei], os 15 filhos do Rei [crianças adoráveis que roubam a cena] e para os muitos bailarinos, cantores e malabaristas. A cena clássica da dança de Anna e o Rei é imperdível assim como a apresentação do teatro siamês. Prepare-se para a casa cheia já que a super-produção está em curta temporada no Teatro Alfa.

April was a culturally intense month and I will recommend some shows one cannot miss in Sao Paulo. Last week I saw 'O Rei e Eu', master piece by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, a creative duo responsible for the musical 'Sound of Music'. With the prestigious regent Jamil Maluf as musical director, our 'Made in Brazil' production is absolutely gorgeous! The multiple luxurious sets are a joy, a giant golden Buddha is the center spot of the stage, beautiful divisors, trees and embroidery curtains that create an opulent ambient to the Sion Kingdom. The costume design is outstanding, a lot of research to create shiny beaded embroideries and oriental silks on a vibrant exotic palette. This art direction creates the perfect canvas to the actors [Tuca Andrada is fabulous as the King], the 15 sons of the King [cute kids that steal the scene] and the many dancers, singers and jugglers. The classical dance scene of Anna and the King is very touching as well the Siamese Theatre presentation. Be ready for a full house cause this super production is on stage during short season at Teatro Alfa.

THE TUDORS - THE END OF A SAGA

No more religious castle intrigues, jewelry in velvet robes, Holbein's precious paintings, chivalry jousting, wicked secret lovers and beheaded queens for the eyes of us commoners. Since then I find myself addicted to Brett Anderson's velvet voice in a collection of love songs such as my all time favorite 'Wild Ones'. Finally I have had the chance to watch Easy Virtue, Stephan Elliot's version of a Noel Coward play. Anyway, after the long delay of 2 years [this is a 2008 movie] I felt please to see a lovely movie and that British poshness and pre-war naivete with a fresh musical approach...Oh Easy Virtue is so cute! I strongly recommend it for anyone looking for a good laugh and some interesting insight on the so called British "good" manners! The plot is great, mamma's stylish boy John [Ben Barnes] comes home to the English countryside with an older and much spicy American bride Larita [Jessica Biel with a wrong kinda of yellow hair] to the shock of his very British, very traditional possessive mother [the absolute chic diva Kirsten Scott Thomas]. The contrast is reinforced with the presence of John's absent progressive father brilliantly played by the always talented and incredibly charming Colin Firth. Yeah, it is a musical and part of the cast get to sing in it, including Jessica Biel [she sings better that her famous bf] and irresistibly posh Ben Barnes whose musical background is proven by his nightingale velvet voice. The best thing about this flick is that the main theme isn't simply about love but if you love someone enough when your previous choices get in the way...and that brings tears to the eyes!

Lá estava eu a caminhar pela National Gallery quando vi um agrupamento, era uma das visitas guiadas com os experts em arte da galeria. Fui surpreendida pelo foco dessa visita específica, sobre um assunto que eu pouco conhecia, mulheres pintoras e "female patrons" na National Gallery. A última parada desse tour de uma hora foi um extraordinário auto-retrato de Marie Louise Elisabeth Vigee-Lebrun [1755-1842], uma pintora francesa revolucionária cujo estilo era um mix entre Barroco e Neo-Clássico. Agora eis a questão: Barroco, tons pastéis, estilo Fragonard...revolucionária porque? Vamos pensar, ela criava arte na França, era século 17 onde a Royal Academie francesa definia o que poderia ser chamado de arte, portanto uma jovem artista que não somente foi a primeira mulher a ser aceita como membro da academia mas que também teve a sorte de se tornar a retratista pessoal de Marie Antoinette pode ser chamada de visionária! A expert da National Galley nos deu alguns highlights sobre essa mulher extraordinária, ela nunca usou perucas [ela achava que eram horríveis], nunca usava corsets [porque eles restringiam sua liberdade] e era super mas super fashionista no seu vestuário usando roupas práticas, naturais e ao mesmo tempo sensuais [como vemos no lindo 'Self-portrait in a Straw Hat' na National Gallery]. Não seria incrível se essa vida fosse transformanda num filme dirigido pela Sofia Coppola e com alguém como Nicole Kidman no papel principal!? Enquanto isso não acontece, vá até Trafalgar Square e não perca a chance de ter um rendez-vous com essa dama incrível!

There I was wondering about the National Gallery when I spotted a gathering, it was one of the daily guided walks with some art experts provided by the museum. By my great amazement, the focus on this specific walk was on a subject I was not familiar with, female patrons and painters at the National Gallery. The last stop of this one hour tour was an exquisite self-portrait by Marie Louise Elisabeth Vigee-Lebrun [1755-1842], she was a revolutionary French painter whose style was a mix between Baroque and Neoclassical. And you ask me: baroque, pastel colors, Fragonard'esque style...revolutionary why? Let's think she was creating art in France, it was the 17th century where the French Royal Academy defined what could be called art, there by an young artist who was not only the first woman accepted as a member of the Academy but also was fortunate enough to become Marie Antoinette's personal portraitist can be called a ground breaker! The National Gallery expert gave us some highlights on this amazing woman, such as she never wore a wig [she said it was hideous], never wore corsets [cause they restrained her freedom] and was very but very fashion forward with her wardrobe using practical, natural looking and yet sensual clothes [as we see in the beautiful 'Self-portrait in a Straw Hat' at National Gallery]. Wouldn't it be amazing if her life could be a movie with Sofia Coppola directing and Nicole Kidman as leading lady!? While we wait for that, go to Trafalgar Square and don't miss the chance to enjoy a rendez-vous with this amazing lady!
